Promega Summer Art Showcase Presents

MADISON, WISCONSIN (May 31, 2011)

Promega Summer Art Show 2011

The Promega Summer Art Showcase Presents Wisconsin Native American Artists. The showcase is pleased to have this group of artists' exhibit their work reflecting their heritage from Assiniboine, Ho-Chunk, Iroquois, Lakota and Oneida tribes.

The Summer Showcase was sparked with a yard sale purchase of a small ceramic pot in Arizona by curator, Daniel Swadener. The ceramic pot* was made by Rose Kerstetter of the Oneida Nation in Wisconsin. It was after Daniel met Rose and other Oneida Nation artists that the idea to showcase Wisconsin Native American artists came to fruition.

The showcase opens Tuesday, June 14, 2011 and continues through September 1, 2011 at the Promega BioPharmaceutical Technology Center in Madison. A public art opening reception will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm. Opera sung in the Lakota language will be performed during the reception. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Daniel Swadener, in conjunction with Promega, is the producer of the art exhibit. For more information Daniel can be contacted through e-mail at swadener@gmail.com or visit his web site at: danielswadener.com.

The Biopharmaceutical Technology Center, located on 5445 East Cheryl Parkway two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish Hatchery Road, was developed, in part, to provide Promega employees and community members a place to pursue these goals.
