Driving Protein Analysis Forward

HaloTag-WEB-BANNER

Understanding the functional role of proteins and how they interact within the cell is increasingly important. Often multiple recombinant protein tags (fusion tags) are used to accomplish this research, which can at times be slow and cumbersome due to inefficiencies moving between different systems. As a result, there is a need for a recombinant protein tag that affords flexibility between protein purification, expression and localization, protein interaction discovery, screening and further functional analysis.

The HaloTag® platform addresses the need for flexibility in functional protein analysis. The technology is based on the formation of a covalent bond between a protein tag and synthetic ligands, and is designed to enable understanding of protein function in a cellular and biochemical environment. There are a variety of HaloTag® ligands available for fluorescent imaging, protein capture, and reactive customizable ligands.
