TAE Buffer is the most commonly used buffer for agarose DNA electrophoresis. A 1X solution is obtained by adding 1 part of the concentrated TAE to 9 or 39 parts of deionized water.
Form: Clear, colorless liquid.
Properties:
- Composition (10X): 400mM Tris-acetate, 10mM EDTA.
- Composition (40X): 1.6M Tris-acetate, 40mM EDTA.
- pH at 25°C: 8.2–8.4.
- Lead: ≤10ppm.
