Reporter Lysis 5X Buffer

Reporter Lysis 5X Buffer is used with the Luciferase Assay System with Reporter Lysis Buffer (Cat.# E4030), developed for reporter quantitation in mammalian cells. Reporter Lysis Buffer (RLB) is a mild lysis agent and requires a single freeze-thaw cycle to achieve complete cell lysis. RLB is compatible with two reporter enzyme assays: β-galactosidase (β-gal) and luciferase. The Reporter Lysis Buffer allows β-gal and luciferase assays to be performed on cell lysates of cells cotransfected with vectors carrying these reporter genes. In cell lines tested at Promega, β-gal activity in cells lysed with Reporter Lysis Buffer is significantly higher than activity in lysates prepared by the freeze-thaw method.
