Promega GmbH receives the Special Award in the planting competition "Deutschland summt!"

Promega GmbH, a subsidiary of Promega Corporation, USA, received the Special Award in the Corporate Gardens category at this year's planting competition "Deutschland summt!" ("Germany is Buzzing!"). The award was presented by the Stiftung für Mensch und Umwelt (Foundation for Man and Environment) at the award ceremony on September 19, 2026, at the conference center of the Gärten der Welt (Gardens of the World) in Berlin, Germany. The competition honors companies that have implemented concrete bee-friendly planting initiatives over a defined period.

The Stiftung für Mensch und Umwelt recognized Promega GmbH's contribution under the motto "Nicht mähen ist auch säen" ("Not mowing is also sowing"). This reflects the transformation of the company premises into a species-rich ecosystem. In keeping with this motto, the grounds are not mowed on a regular schedule but are instead maintained in a rhythm adapted to nature. As a result, the flowering biomass there continuously provides food for numerous insect species, some of them rare. During the competition period, Promega GmbH also brought two organically kept bee colonies onto the company premises.

The Deutschland summt! ("Germany is buzzing!") planting competition, run by the Berlin-based Foundation for Man and Environment, has for eleven years been motivating people across Germany to design gardens, balconies, schoolyards, company premises, and public spaces in a nature-friendly way.
